A Living Legacy

While sorting through records following Kent's death, I have found dozens and dozens of charities that he supported over the years. He had such a heart for missions and was so happy to support many short term missionary trips as well as having three nieces and nephews in fulltime campus ministry. He was an ardent supporter of Promise Keepers, Christian Coalition, Focus on the Family, Republicans for the Christian agenda., Marriage conferences , The Heart Association, Relay for Life, . .. . The list goes on and on. What a legacy.

I am continually amazed by the things that Dad did "behind the scenes" that few of us knew about.

Dear Brittens:

I will forver have the picture in my mind of Kent leading what appeared to be his two wives and six kids across the weed lot to the Wesleyan Church. Several of us used to joke with him about how nice it was that a nice Mormon family was attending our church. The thought still brings a smile to my face!

I had the good fortune of several interactions with Kent over the last few years and in each instance I walked away feeling better than I had before speaking with him. He had such a kind and positive approach that infected the people around him. What a great man of God!
